Lovely staff, luxurious bedrooms. Very clean in all areas. We only stayed for one night and had breakfast delivered to the room next morning. Sadly that was a huge disappointment. When the tray arrived both plates of cooked breakfast were cold. I couldn't actually eat mine. The salt pot was empty and no clean cups for the tea. I did mention it to reception on check out. He did apologise and said he would mention it but then went to ask what score we would give the hotel. I do hope he passed our concerns on. Looking at other reviews it does seem that food may be a let down. Would definitely stay again but not include food in the stay.

Great hotel The staff need a special mention. Particularly the lady running the breakfasts and catering later in the day. I didn’t get her name but she was a treasure. Nothing too much effort, smiling and extraordinarily helpful. Truly wonderful lady. I hope this finds its was to you. Spa really quite tired, hot tub and sauna out of action. Shame. Otherwise great stay.

Positive: Attended a 2 day conference here. Hotel was situated in a convenient location and easy access. Plenty of parking. Ok food. Spacious bed rooms and comfortable bed. Decent breakfast choices. Negative: There were 200 delegates, lunch time meal was a buffet by the Brueton bar. It was very crowded no where for people to sit. Some people went back in the conference room to eat. There was about 20 seats in the foyer which was cold. The evening sit down meal: would have been nice if they had a menu to indicate what the courses were For a 4 star hotel, the hand towel in the bedroom had holes in it which was reported to reception on check out. My colleague who stayed in another room, the biscuits opened and half eaten. The previous occupants' room card was still the electric slot. This showed that house keeping is not thorough.

The voco St John's Solihull by IHG was a comfortable base and within easy walking distance of both the town centre and railway station. I was present for an evening event and found the staff hospitable and helpful. The event space proved very good and my room was comfortable.

I first went to this hotel to use its leisure facilities, as I'm due to invest in a membership. I was greeted by Chris, who was so helpful, as were all of the other members. This place is a little oasis of lovely people, decent facilities, and a really welcoming feeling. The gym is well equipped, clean and well maintained, the pool is a perfect temperature, as are the steam and sauna. The staff, Chris, Gareth and Lisa, are a credit to this establishment. Then on the 5.10.2025, I decided to book a room for my Sons Birthday sleepover, on arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Kadrija, at reception, this wonderful lady, made the whole check in process, so straightforward. This was my first time using this hotel for an overnight stay. When I informed Kadrija, that it was my Sons Birthday, this lady went above and beyond to assist and ensure we had a fantastic stay. I booked my Son and his guests, a three course evening meal, the selection as well as the quality of food and ingredients, were impressive. The hotel suite was clean, spacious and it really did exceed our expectations, the bed, wow, I mean, it was like sleeping in the clouds. At breakfast, the server Ellesse, was soo attentive. I would highly recommend this beautiful establishment, the staff, really were what made our stay soo pleasurable.

This was the perfect location for our Doterra Business event. A beautiful, clean hotel. Comfortable room, warm in the cold spell we're having(mid Nov 2025). All staff were friendly and helpful including bar and restaurant staff who were all attentive and the housekeeping staff who we could approach and had courteous friendly assistance. The event venue was ideal, our tables were topped up with water, it was clean and general organisation was great. The hotel has a modern decor however the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and change rooms were dated. Hopefully that's next on the project list for updating as this hotel is the ideal location for events due to the easy access by road, air and train. I would highly recommend staying here whether it us for business or pleasure or even a shopping trip to Birmingham.

I had a fantastic time at voco hotel. Me and my partner come here every few years and the service was amazing. On Sunday we came in for our dinner and we were sat down by the lady in a blazer and she was so warm and welcoming and another girl with glasses i think her name was 'Naina' was extremely friendly and kind to us due to the fact that my husband does not speak that much he prefers to use sign language and she started speaking in sign for him to make him more comfortable and really checked in on us and made sure we were comfortable. Even when our steak was a bit undercooked she straight away sent it back. We had an amazing time and would 100% come back again.

I had the most wonderful experience with this hotel and its staff. They allowed me to check in earlier without charging anything extra as I informed them I was there to appear in an exam and needed some extra time to study. The room was clean and amazing. I went to the hotel reception a few times with different requests and I found all members of the staff to be extremely kind and courteous. Would definitely choose Voco whenever I'm visiting Birmingham again.
